• The Message of Contrition
• The Message of Comfrontation
• The Message of Consummation
B. The Message of Consumation
• It is all about rewarding and judgment
• It is all about destinations
• It is all about life after this life
• It is all about standing before the Holy God
II. BODY
A. The Herald Introduced The Greatness of the King
1) The Humility of John Exalted The King
• He was prone to exalt himself and claiming that he was the Christ Yet he showed his humility (John 1:19-23)
o John’s baptism is greater than Jesus’ baptism
The 3 Baptism
• Baptism of repentance (Pre-Christian Baptism – Old way of repentance and believe in O.T.
• Baptism of the Holy Spirit (Church – Connection with the Second Coming)
• Baptism of Fire (Return – Judgment)
o “One will come who is more powerful than I”
o John was not fit to carry the sandals of the King
The work of the lowest of the slave

1) The Four Things Jesus Owns
• Winnowing Fork - examining, sorting, inspect, pick over
• Hand - authority
• Threshing Floor
• Wheat - Christians

Clearing – threshing floor

• Burning – chaff
D. Why Do We Need to Repent? – The Grounds for Repentance (His Attributes)
1) His Greatness – He is Mighty Savior
2) His Authority – He is a Just Judge
3) His Wrath – He is a Holy God
